Sadahiro Usui is executive vice president of DENSO Corporation, headquartered in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. He is CRO (Chief Risk Officer) and oversees DENSO’s China Div., Alliance, Purchasing Group and Taiwan Region.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Nagoya University, Usui joined DENSO Corporation (formerly Nippondenso Co., Ltd.) in 1981. Usui began his career in the Overseas Operations Division, where he helped launch a project of DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. for DENSO’s first full-scale local production in North America. He also was involved in various overseas business projects, including the acquisition of DENSO Marston Ltd. (formerly IMI Radiators, Ltd.).

In 1990, Usui began an assignment in Europe, where he was contributed to laying the groundwork for the European business structure.

After returning to Japan, he was become responsible for Electric Planning Unit in 2004, contributing to realize profitability of overseas operations. In June 2007, Usui was appointed to Executive Director of the Corporate Function Division and led structural reform projects aiming to recover from the Lehman shock.

In 2012, Usui became responsible for the Engine Electrical Systems Business Unit and was appointed as CEO of DENSO North America in 2014. In 2015, Usui was promoted to Senior Executive Director and later appointed as CEO of DENSO Europe B.V. in 2016. Then he became Executive Vice President in 2019 and Member of the Board in June 2020.
