Creating Connections with Local Communities DENSO Group Community Service Day
Since 2004, we have been holding the DENSO Group Community Service Day to encourage DENSO Group employees from around the world to get involved in activities that contribute to society together with members of their local communities.

Examples of Activities Conducted in Japan
DENSO Aircool Corporation
Approximately 100 DENSO Aircool employees and their families help remove weeds on the grounds of Nagano Children’s Hospital. In addition to the donations the company has made to the hospital, DENSO Aircool’s efforts to remove weeds, which began in 2016, have been highly praised by the hospital’s staff.
ASMO Co., Ltd.
Employees from ASMO set up a booth at the Youth Science Fair held in the city of Kosai, Shizuoka, where they provided a workshop on building motors. Nearly 100 children visited the booth on the day of the fair and took on the challenge of building motors. Employees then helped children put the motors they built into rotation.
Note: In April 2018, ASMO Co., Ltd. integrated its business with DENSO Corporation, changing its name to DENSO Kosai Plant.
DENSO PREAS Corporation
Twice a year, all employees of DENSO PREAS participate in cleanup activities in the area surrounding the company. With a desire to create an even more beautiful community—Toyokawa City—where the company is located, these employees have continued to carry out such activities over many years while engaging with members of the local community.
DENSO E & TS Training Center Corporation
Students at the DENSO Technical Skills Academy have been participating voluntarily in corporate citizenship activities, including cleanup activities for local facilities and sidewalks and volunteer activities at the Boys and Girls Inventors Club. Through these activities, the students experience the joy of giving back to the local community, which in turn helps foster a spirit of cooperation.
HAMANAKODENSO Co., Ltd.
Employees at HAMANAKODENSO clean mirrors that help cars see around curves in an effort to enhance traffic safety in Kosai City, where the company is located. In 2018, these employees cleaned 66 such mirrors located around the company’s headquarters and also picked up trash that had been thrown away alongside roads.
DENSO Corporation, Toyohashi Plant
Omotehama Beach on the Atsumi Peninsula is a place where loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs. Employees at the Toyohashi Plant participate in various activities to preserve the nature surrounding the beach, including beach cleanup activities, analysis of debris that has drifted ashore, and the construction of walls to restore the shore side. In doing so, these employees help protect the natural habitat of loggerhead turtles.
Examples of Activities Conducted Overseas
Europe (Hungary)
Employees at DENSO Manufacturing Hungary Ltd. (Hungary) planted flowers in parks in the city of Székesfehérvár, where the company is located, together with local children.
Asia/Oceania (Thailand)
Employees at Thai DENSO Group engaged in tree planting activities.
India
Employees at a Group company in India conducted educational activities on traffic safety for children at local elementary schools.
China
Employees at a Group company in China conducted educational activities on traffic safety for children at local elementary schools.
South Korea
Employees at DENSO International Korea Corporation (Seoul) invited children from local nursery schools to visit the company. During this visit, the employees conducted educational activities on traffic safety in collaboration with local police officers.
North America
To improve the educational environment for children, employees at each Group company in North America donated school supplies such as writing utensils. These employees also conducted various other activities to assist local schools. A total of 330 employees donated 8,500 school supplies to schools located in Southfield, Michigan.
South America (Brazil)
Employees at Group companies in Brazil visited local orphanages to conduct cleanup activities. To ensure that children at these orphanages can live comfortably, Group employees planted trees and removed weeds. They also filled sandboxes with fresh sand and painted playground equipment.
