DENSO VISION 2005 January 1997
As the 21st century approaches, DENSO is boldly transforming itself while keeping its origins in view, with the aim of becoming a renewed, more vibrant company. Looking ahead to the coming decade, our corporate activities will become more globalized, the lines between industries will blur, and competition will become even more intense across different sectors. In light of these major changes in the business climate, we formulated this DENSO VISION 2005, which describes our company’s dreams for the early years of the new century, to serve as a compass that points in the direction that all DENSO employees should take in their day-to-day activities.
Since 1964, DENSO has formulated a principle for each operational milestone, using it as a long-term management guideline to navigate a harsh business environment. As for the recent DENSO Principle for Structural Change Response, the efforts of the entire group have resulted in us leaping upward to new levels of success.
To fulfill our mission to “contribute to a better world” as stated in DENSO Philosophy, we aim to be “DENSO - opening the doors to possibilities” and, in accordance with the new DENSO VISION 2005, we will (1) expand our activities around the world and into the future, (2) conduct global group management, and (3) develop an open corporate culture and spirited associates. We want to be a company whose employees act with pride and inspire empathy in society at large, based on our sense of mission to pioneer the future in the coming 21st century by contributing through state-of-the-art technology to the protection of the natural environment and the improvement of people’s safety and comfort.

DENSO VISION 2015 April 2004
Since 1964, DENSO has formulated a principle for each operational milestone, using it as a long-term management guideline to navigate a harsh business environment. Regarding DENSO VISION 2005, we believe we have largely achieved our initial targets thanks to the efforts of all our Group members, thereby opening the doors to possibilities.
As we enter the 21st century, various advanced technologies are changing our lives. In terms of automobiles, we can expect significant progress in the development of vehicles that are environmentally friendly, which has been a long-held dream of ours, and that are safe and accident-free and provide driving pleasure and comfort.
We have been striving to realize DENSO Philosophy of “contributing to a better world by creating value together with a vision for the future.” We believe the new value we must create by 2015 will lie in such “friendliness” regarding the environment and safety, as well as “pleasure” regarding comfort and convenience. In the next ten years, we will make every effort to refine DENSO Spirit that has been nurtured since the company’s founding, with the aim of creating the highest level of “friendliness” and “pleasure.”
These aspirations run throughout this DENSO VISION 2015. We hope to share these ideas with all of you, and to pioneer a new era of collaboration within our Group.
1. Basic structure of DENSO VISION 2015
The basic structure of DENSO VISION 2015 consists of three parts: Goal, Basic Strategy, and Code of Conduct. We have defined the image of DENSO that we want to achieve by 2015 as our “Goal,” and have indicated the strategy and conduct we will pursue in order to realize it.
Goal
Our mission is to “contribute to a better world by creating value together with a vision for the future.” And our “Goal” represents how we will contribute to a better world by 2015.
We aim to deliver the greatest “friendliness” and “pleasure” to people around the world, and will do our utmost to achieve this.
Basic Strategy
Our Basic Strategy indicates the direction of business innovation toward the realization of our “Goal.”
We will reach our “Goal” by addressing the three policies of technical development, business development, and management and people, as well as six priority issues.
Code of Conduct
In executing the Basic Strategy, all employees of the DENSO Group should rely on the Code of Conduct.
We will further refine the DENSO Spirit of “foresight,” “credibility,” and “collaboration” that we have nurtured since our founding, and steadily implement our Basic Strategy one step at a time.

President Kato: My Thoughts on Our Long-Term Policy
Future global companies will be required to make even greater contributions to society.
In an era of rapid environmental change that makes it difficult to foresee the future, our long-term policy outlines how the DENSO Group will be contributing to society in 2020.
It is my hope that sharing this long-term policy with all DENSO Group employees will instill in everyone a sense of pride in working for DENSO, and a sense of mission.
To improve society, every one of us should personally take an active role in society and help the DENSO Group evolve into a global company that people around the world can relate to.
