1. Establishment of NIPPONDENSO Taiwan Corp. (DNTW)
In 1980, due to market demand for after-sales service, the DENSO Group established “NIPPONDENSO Taipei Office” in the Hotai Motor Xinzhuang Plant (currently 10, Mingzhong St., Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City) and sent Masaki Kojima, assistant manager, to be its representative. Hotai Motor had previously been a distributor of bus air conditioners, brackets, and other parts for the DENSO Group. The office's duties were to provide Hotai Motor with relevant technology and services along with sales support.

In 1983, Toyota Motor Corporation officially announced plans to build a plant in Taiwan, and NIPPONDENSO (currently DENSO) immediately launched its investment plans in the island. In 1984, NIPPONDENSO Taipei Office was relocated to the “21st Century Building” (currently, 4F, 207 Dunhua North Road, Songshan District, Taipei). The office mainly provided after-sales service for heavy trucks and the DENSO Group’s passenger car air conditioners, plugs, maintenance parts, etc. Another important duty was to support local procurement of car air conditioners. In 1987, NIPPONDENSO Taiwan Corp. was established. NIPPONDENSO Taiwan took over the related operations of NIPPONDENSO Taipei Office. Once the Taipei office had successfully completed its role, it officially ceased operations that year.

Since its establishment in 1987, NIPPONDENSO Taiwan has consistently strived to meet the expectations of customers worldwide through the development, manufacture, and sale of automotive parts. In 1989, NIPPONDENSO Taiwan completed its phase 2 expansion. Its phase 3 expansion was completed in 1995. In 1996, the company changed its name from NIPPONDENSO Taiwan Corp. to DENSO Taiwan Corp. (DNTW). It opened a wind tunnel testing building for actual vehicles in 1999.
