Introduction
China’s entry into the WTO in 2001 further opened up the environment for foreign investment, triggering a Chinese investment boom within the Japanese automotive industry. DENSO followed the trend and launched its China business project. In 2003, facing fierce competition, DENSO leveraged its experience in other regions to establish a regional headquarters, DENSO (China) Investment Co., Ltd., to oversee the company’s overall operations in China. With the effective integration of the Group’s resources, operations were gradually normalized and systematized. With this investment company as its “brain,” DENSO China succeeded in further developing the market in the south, strengthening its local technology development capabilities and building an extensive network covering China. DENSO China continued to develop its business, gathering strength in its exploration and steadily preparing for the next leap forward.
