Advancing steadily is the way to go far; progressing continuously is the way to get things done.
DENSO China started as a representative office in Beijing in 1987, after which DENSO (China) Investment Co., Ltd.(DICH) was established in 2003 as a regional headquarters to strengthen functions across the region by creating systems for design, development, sales, production, and after-sales services.
In 1994, the company established the joint venture Yantai Shougang NIPPONDENSO Co., Ltd. as its first production company. Since then, it has expanded throughout China, including Tianjin and Guangzhou, growing to its current size of 38 affiliated companies with approximately 17,000 associates. This is thanks largely to the long-standing guidance and support received from all its stakeholders, including customers, government officials, partners, senior executives, and associates. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
DENSO China is celebrating its 37th anniversary this year, and we are determined to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and the happiness of people and society in China, where our goal is “to be recognized and chosen by Chinese stakeholders for our environmental and safety performance.” However, the current Chinese market is undergoing a period of profound transformation driven by rapid technological innovations such as electrification, autonomous driving, and connectivity, which are fundamentally reshaping the value of automobiles. We find ourselves in an extremely challenging business environment. To overcome these challenges and achieve our vision, we see this year as a year of transformation and acceleration. We have identified the most critical issues as "reloading for future business growth and transforming into an optimal structure and physique." To drive this initiative, we have positioned "localization of design and development," "strengthening and optimizing manufacturing capabilities," and "development of human resources and organizational capabilities" as key focus areas and are vigorously engaging in various activities with our regional partners.
As all our associates in the China region unite to work harder than ever, we ask for your continued assistance and support.
