The Yoshimura SERT Motul supported by DENSO IRIDIUM POWER, took 3rd place at the 43rd “Coca-Cola” Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race (held at the Suzuka Circuit), the Rd. 3 of the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), held from August 4th through 7th.

Yoshimura SERT Motul, ranking in 1st of EWC Series, was in a crisis after two riders scheduled to compete withdrew due to contracting COVID-19 and injury, respectively, just before the race. While most teams have three-rider line-ups, the team decided to go ahead with two riders, Rider Captain Gregg Black and machine development rider Kazuki Watanabe. Despite starting in the middle of the grid after finishing 22nd in the qualifying round, Black broke into lead group from the opening and was in first place for a time during the 7th lap. While competing closely with strong teams such as Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha, Yoshimura SERT Motul maintained 4th place from the middle of the race. Later, despite repeated crashes, falls, and other incidents involving other teams, Black and Watanabe endured the 8 hours with stable, steady, but aggressive riding and finished in an impressive 3rd place.

As a result of this race, Yoshimura SERT Motul retains 1st place in the team ranking of the FIM EWC. All that remains is the final race, Bol d'Or, on September 17 and 18th. DENSO has supported Yoshimura’s challenges for 40 years through its spark plugs. DENSO will continue to strongly support Yoshimura SERT Motul. We hope for everyone's continued support!
