Refining and Advancing
In the 1980s, China was attracting the attention of investors worldwide as a newly industrializing country and a new market. In 1987, to keep up with the times, DENSO began exploring business in China in the form of joint ventures. China’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001 created a climate more conducive to foreign investment. In 2003, facing fierce competition, DENSO entered a new phase in its China operations with the establishment of a regional headquarters, DENSO (China) Investment Co., Ltd., to oversee the company’s overall operations in that country. In 2018, the automotive industry began to undergo a major transformation as automation and self-driving became the trend. DENSO China pursued more diverse modes of partnership and development in response to this reality. Now, the company is refining itself and advancing toward success in its second founding phase.
