1. Start of DENSO Korea by merging DENSO Korea Automotive Corporation, DENSO Korea Electronics Corporation, and DENSO International Korea Corporation
(2) Promotion of the unification project
DENSO Korea’s three group companies have been conducting work-specific subcommittee activities since 2012 to learn each other’s strong points and share challenges in order to reinforce their competitiveness.
In October 2015, the “DENSO Korea Integrated Corporate Bulletin” was published, and every member shared the current management status of the three companies and various internal activities, implementing the unifying keywords “ONE DENSO.” Every member of the three companies began to close mental distance and align their awareness.
In 2016, operation began through gradual integration of key functions. At that time, the organization of the entire company was divided into functional and business axes. The “General Planning, Financial, IT, Human Resources, Purchasing, Quality, and Legal Divisions”, which were some of the functional divisions of DENSO Korea Electronics and DENSO Korea Automotive, were integrated first. Later, in 2017, the “Technology Planning” and “Safety and Environment” Divisions were additionally integrated.
In January 2018, DENSO International Korea was also merged to integrate the organizations of the three DENSO Korea group companies with a focus on functions. Through this, the company promoted the establishment of a “small”, “strong”, and “speedy” management system. The new organization announced at the time consisted of seven general groups, 15 headquarters, 31 departments, and two overseas subsidiaries, under President & CEO Kim Kyung Seop.
In line with the individual profit structure of DENSO Headquarters, the Sales, Design, Production, and Target Costing Divisions, which belonged to the business axis, were managed as a general business group, and the management took advantage of the features of each business.
