[2] DNHA Establishing Customer Faith as a Trusted Partner by Supporting 2nd OEM Supplier SUBROS - “Unity in Diversity”

Strong Collaboration with SUBROS to recover from Environment Accident (Fire), resume uninterrupted supply to the Customer

In the intricate tapestry of India’s diverse culture, DENSO found strength in unity, embracing the nation’s rich tapestry of religions, languages, and cultures. This commitment to “Unity in Diversity” transcended mere philosophy when, in May 2012, a severe fire incident struck the business partner, SUBROS, threatening to disrupt the supply chain for Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). The challenge was significant: how to support MSIL with global DENSO power when crucial production lines for Engine Cooling Modules (ECM) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC) were severely damaged.

DENSO being business partner of SUBROS, and owing to proximity of location, volunteered to lead the recovery efforts. Undeterred by the scale of the challenge, management of DENSO Haryana Pvt. Ltd. spearheaded the recovery efforts. The priority was clear – support and recover as swiftly as possible. The damaged dye at SUBROS, seemingly irreparable, posed a major hurdle. However, with determination and innovation, the team managed to recover within a week. Temporary lines were set up at DNHA to produce ECM for SUBROS.

Daily meetings with MSIL were convened to strategize product priorities and recovery plans. One of the key challenges was the extensive time required to set up a production line – a staggering 9 months. Displaying a remarkable blend of innovation and agility, the team completed the setup in just 3 months. This involved airlifting machines from other countries and concurrently establishing an additional line to meet the demanding deadline.

The incident exemplified the essence of DENSO’s associates’ unity and resilience in the face of adversity. A commitment banner, signed by DENSO members, symbolized their dedication to supporting SUBROS. When Ms. Shraddha Suri, MD of SUBROS, received the banner, it served as a special honor, underlining the depth of the commitment to unity in diversity.

“Unity in Diversity” went beyond being a mere virtue; it became a guiding principle in daily job management. The unity cultivated through diverse thinking patterns created a cohesive force, breaking down walls of issues through multi-dimensional ideas and collective wisdom. This unity not only withstood negative labor influences prevalent in the Indian business region but also bolstered DENSO’s stable operations. The strong sense of a unified purpose enabled DENSO to consistently fulfill challenging customer expectations.
