DENSO, a global automotive components manufacturer, understands this reality and has taken a proactive approach to stay ahead of the competition in India. DENSO has invested heavily in research and development (R&D) to create innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.

In the pursuit of excellence and staying at the forefront of innovation, DENSO embarked on a transformative journey with a distinct focus on Research and Development (R&D). On November 5, 2012, DENSO celebrated a significant milestone with the "Grand Opening Ceremony" of the Technical Centre. This state-of-the-art facility, backed by a substantial investment of US$35.3 million, symbolized DENSO's commitment to cutting-edge technological development. With a sprawling site covering over 5,040m2 of land, the center was strategically positioned to address the unique challenges posed for auto manufacturers by Indian terrain and weather conditions.

The India Technical Center emerged as a multi-utility R&D hub, equipped with cutting-edge facilities such as Chassis Dynamo, Engine Dynamo, Diesel Rig-Bench, Impact Testing, Small Motor Performance, Wiper Durability Testing, Anechoic Chamber, and more. These facilities positioned DENSO to not only demonstrate engineering capabilities but also to actively engage in reducing traffic fatalities in India by promoting innovative safety technologies.

The fundamental mission of the Technical Centre revolved around supporting customers in becoming regulation-compliant, with a keen focus on Bharat Standards - BS-IV and BS-VI standards, equivalent to Euro norms. DENSO's dedication to environmental and safety concerns, specifically tailored to Indian conditions, was reflected in the center’s scope of operations. From collaborating with sales teams to market research, system calibration, and application engineering for Indian OEMs, the center aimed at contributing significantly to DENSO's business growth in India.

With a vision to be an engineering organization trusted by OEMs, IGCs, suppliers, and society, DENSO's Technical Centre took on the challenge of unique product development, concentrating on environmental sustainability, safety, comfort, convenience, and security. The center’s commitment to global excellence extended to software development for global, off-shore projects, supporting DENSO's technological engineering activities on a global scale.

Govt. Policy and Regulation

The Technical Centre actively participated in investigating and complying with government policies and customer needs. Engaging in annual conventions by automotive associations like SIAM and ACMA, DENSO captured trends in the Indian automobile industry, aligning with the government's vision of achieving 30-40% electric vehicles by 2030.

The Technical Centre stands as a testament to DENSO's proactive approach to innovation, regulatory compliance, and creating a safer and more sustainable automotive future in India.
