In 2012, DENSO India embarked on a transformative journey with the initiation of Regional Functions, marking the genesis of a centralized approach towards operational efficiency and cost reduction. The introduction of the Centralized Procurement Function aimed to streamline raw material purchases for Indian Group Companies (IGCs), fostering materials and parts cost reduction across the board. The commencement of Common Supplier Meets further bolstered regional collaboration, facilitating stronger partnerships with business allies.
The year 2013 witnessed a pivotal milestone with DIIN Procurement organizing the inaugural India Region Business Partner Meet, focusing on CPS Cost Down initiatives and providing crucial support to suppliers. Subsequent years saw an unwavering commitment to innovation and operational excellence. In 2015, DENSO India intensified its Production Innovation efforts, particularly in supporting complex business setups in the DNHA Plant 2 factory.
Under the visionary "DANTOTSU" Factory Project, DENSO India embarked on a multifaceted approach to enhance in-house parts competitiveness through localization and supplier support. The promotion of automation, exemplified by DENSO's innovative 1/N machine, underscored the company's commitment to efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and space optimization.
In parallel, Regional Procurement and Logistics initiatives witnessed significant expansion and enhancement. Milk run Expansion initiatives, Warehouse Integration efforts post-GST implementation, and Packaging Standardization activities reflected DENSO's commitment to logistical efficiency and cost reduction.
The Corporate Division played a pivotal role in setting regional policy and governance standards. The establishment of the entralized Legal Department in 2009, coupled with the introduction of Competition Law Compliance and Code of Compliance initiatives, underscored DENSO India's commitment to ethical practices and regulatory compliance.
Business Planning activities focused on profitability management, culminating in the India President Conference for consolidated reporting to top management across IGCs. The Corporate Planning and Communication Department initiated the inception of DIIN Executive Management meetings, Policy Management initiatives, and Regional Sustainability Management efforts, emphasizing DENSO India's commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility.
Total Financial Management initiatives, spearheaded by the Finance and Accounts (FA) team, ensured smooth implementation of tax regulations, accurate financial closing, and optimization of insurance policies. Information Systems (IS) enhancements, including security control measures and system development for shipping traceability, underscored DENSO India's commitment to technological advancement and operational efficiency.
