The above figures have been calculated based on provisions of the Act on the Promotion of Women’s Active Engagement in Professional Life.
With respect to employee wages, our compensation policies and criteria do not differ on the basis of gender, and based on our human resources system, wages are equal for men and women given the same qualifications. Currently, the lack of women in each age group assuming management positions is having an impact on the figures for our wage gap between men and women. However, for approximately the past 10 years, we have been strengthening our recruitment of women and promoting initiatives to facilitate their personal and professional growth, such as by helping them advance their careers by pursuing higher qualifications and promoting them to management positions and offering various training programs. We will continue to promote the active role of women by realizing more flexible workstyles, enhancing our support system for balancing work and family life, encouraging our male employees to take childcare leave, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.

The number of male employees taking childcare leave increased in fiscal 2023, mainly due to the following initiatives.
Employees expecting the birth of their child were apprised of the Company’s childcare leave system by their supervisor and asked about their intentions of using this system.
A seminar was held for managers to explain the importance of male employees to take childcare leave.
Support manuals on balancing work and childcare were prepared specifically for female employees, male employees, and their superiors and distributed accordingly.

Safety and Health
Fiscal 2023 results [global]
Aiming to reduce the number of Type 1 accidents by ensuring that employees do not touch the moving parts of machinery, we implemented an action plan at each Group company and business division in fiscal 2023. These action plans were not based on the decisions and actions of any one employee, and on-site monitoring activities (safety communication patrols by DENSO Japan, cross-checking in production management activities, and preliminary quality control checks by Group companies) were held by the senior management of Group companies and third-party affiliates. Moreover, in the case of fires and explosions, we have achieved our goal of zero serious accidents by continuing to carry out thorough preventive measures and conducting workplace inspections of maintenance and management conditions through the support of experts and third parties. Our domestic Group companies fell short of achieving their respective safety point target, and therefore we will redouble our efforts to achieve this target by implementing priority activities that monitor the tendencies of accidents, ensuring that employees do not touch the moving parts of machinery and reassessing and reducing the risk of work processes that are done by hand.
